Dear Members and Friends:

My 28 pastorate at the Warren Avenue Presbyterian Church has come to an end.  I leave with many memories I will cherish for the rest of my life.  The worship service and all the special music on November 24^th was uplifting.  My sincere thanks to the Program Team for a wonderful luncheon and cake.  The “purse” was a super surprise.  We will enjoy spending some time in Traverse City.  Your personal reflections and notes have deeply touched my heart.

While leaving the pastorate has been difficult, I know that the Warren Avenue Presbyterian Church is in good hands.  You have wonderful group of Elders and Deacons who can maintain the forward momentum the church has enjoyed through the years.  It won’t be too long before new pastoral leadership will be called to help you in making plans for the future.

You have a wonderful staff to support you in your work.  As Doug and Melissa and Charles take care of you and the church, I know you will continue
to support and encourage them in their work.  Together as church members, leaders and staff, you make a wonderful team in doing Christ’s work. 

Finally, with Christ by your side, I know there is a bright future for the church grounded in your passion and enthusiasm for serving Christ.    

As I said on Sunday, you have greatly influenced me in my pastorate. 

You have helped me grow.  You will always be in my heart as I pray to be in yours.  I know I speak for Nancy as well in saying:  We love you!
